Post-Year Comeback

Hi, there! It's nice to be back. Any mother (or anyone who knows what being a mother entails) will know right off the bat why I've been gone from this blog for so long. It's no mystery. Long story short, I've been busy. ;)

Our little baby boy is now a 13 month and 2 week old toddler! Oh, and did I mention he is most definitely a BOY?? He's a ball of energy, always exploring and looking for things he can't have! Haha, sound familiar? Toys are useless in our household -- they just take up space and create a mess. Plug-in air fresheners, door stoppers, calculators, and hand dusters are more of Liam's thing. :)

Aside from the lack of sleep, we are so blessed to have a very healthy not-so-little boy. All his check-ups have gone well... well, except for his first year visit. Let's just say that was the visit that tainted all the rest of his visits. He didn't do so well with his 1-year shots. In fact, it was agonizing (for the both of us). We literally had to pin him down to get him to stay still enough for his shots. He was already in a bad mood to begin with, so we didn't stand a chance. Thank God our nurse is awesome. We always cross our fingers that we get her to administer shots whenever he needs them. She gets it done so quickly and efficiently. Now if only I could get her name right... Atremiah? Artremeus? Ugh. I'll write it down next time.

The first year flew by so quickly. When we finally realized how fast he was growing, I became so thankful for having been able to experience every moment of it. I know not every mother is able to, or even wants to, but I'm really happy I got to do it with Liam. So now, we decided it's time to start parting ways and allow him to explore a world without us for a little bit. We want him to experience a world with other kids just like him and have the opportunity to engage in parallel play and socialization. We've been researching daycare/ school options, so hopefully, by the end of summer, we'll be able to have a set schedule for both Liam and myself. I'm personally very excited about it because I get cabin fever pretty easily, and I enjoy being out and about, working on hobbies and projects. Lately, it's been really hard to get stuff done with Liam around. He's just so full of energy, and apparently, I'm not a sufficient outlet for him and his explorative soul anymore! :)

Oh! I forgot to mention I'm officially a college graduate (finally)! Liam was 8 months when I walked the stage. His dad dressed him too cute for words! It definitely made my day when I saw the both of them waiting for me after the ceremony. I also have to say that I made the years and tears count by graduating with a B.S. in Psychology with cum laude honors. I've always wanted a career that I truly love and enjoy, and that didn't change even after I became a housewife and stay-at-home-mother. I believe that when God calls us to do something, we'll know it. It doesn't have to be cliche or what the rest of your church friends do. ;)

Until next time, God bless!
